I Quickly Fell in Love with the City

I’m an exchange student for the 2017 fall semester from University of Hong Kong. It was really a great experience living and studying in Pitt!

When I first arrived in Pittsburgh, I was afraid that I might get homesick during the semester. But it amazed me that I quickly fell in love with the city within a couple of days. It was summer then, the city was bright, fresh, really beautiful, and warm, but not so hot as in Hong Kong. Just walking along the avenues admiring the wonderful scenery could be a very enjoyable thing. There are also many historical buildings in the campus, including the Cathedral of Learning, the second tallest university teaching building in the world.

I lived in Lothrop Hall and made a number of new friends there. The hallmates were friendly, lively and energetic. There were also lots of activities that helped me adapt to the new environment, meet more people as well as explore new things.

I took four courses for the semester. The professors are really nice, responsible, helpful and professional. Through group project, I also have a lot of chances to work with other classmates, which I find really interesting and beneficial.

The experience in Pitt is overall very unforgettable and meaningful. Thanks, Pitt!
